GoodWill Haul

Hi! -_-

I'm a little frustrated with YouTube and their way of choosing thumbnails... should be named "dumbnails" instead hehe. They always make me look super silly. Maybe who ever that is choosing it get a kick out of it. Just kidding, I know it is randomly chosen or actually there is a program that is set to do that. I heard that you can actually figure out how they calculate the screenshots that they will chose. I guess it is a good thing for us somehow.
Anyways, back to the nice me. Fall and winter fashion is here and I do not want to get a brand new wardrobe. Unless you stocked up when the stores were cleaning out their fall and winter clothes during the spring, you cannot find a good deal on them. Of course you can wear stuff you have already, but mixing things you already own and NEW things is the fun and exciting part. hehe

Alright, enough of me babbling on about how great it is... see it for yourself!

Well someone's old stuff can be your new stuff. Or as people say it, "Someone's trash can be someone's treasure". GoodWill is a great way to not only donate stuff you are tired of or do not fit anymore, but it is a great way to find cheap stuff. Some stereotypical people might think it is only for poor people, but the GoodWill Store actually uses the stuff you donate to get money for the needy. So you can help them out more than one way. The stuff at GoodWill are great and very forgiving to our wallets.
I usually donate my stuff to GoodWill at the end of each season, but my biggest donation is at the end fo the year. This is also a great way to recycle your clothes. Don't throw it out, why would you throw away money?
But keep in mind that finding great things at GoodWill is luck. You cannot depend on my haul or words for assurance that you will find something great. You have to be hopeful and have patience.
I go back every month or whenever I have time. My strategy is to go before they have the 50% off weekend sales once a month. Because if you're unlucky and go after the sale everything is gone. But if you go a little pass that day then new inventory is available.
I hope that this video will help inspire you to go out there and find great deals on "new" fall and winter fashion. You don't have to find the newest stuff to be trendy. Use your creativity to make the clothes your style. That in my opinion is stylish.

** Remember to make sure if the location you plan on going to is either a donation drop-off or a store.

Good luck with that and see you soon!

Early Christmas... Rock & Republic "Bedroom" Blush!

Hi again!
I know it is quite early for Christmas, but I could not wait to purchase my first Rock & Republic Blush. I've heard so many great reviews and swatches on http://karlasugar.net/  and you know my obsession with blush. You can never have too many ;) It is pricey, but signing up for Rock & Republic's emailing list I got 10% off as well as their 99 cent shipping promotion. Not to mention shipping was FAST!

Why do I say it is early Christmas? Waiting on FedEx was overwhelming, but once I heard that door bell ring I raced down the stairs while cheering for the arrival like it was Christmas morning racing down to the tree. Don't worry our FedEx and UPS guy is use to it.

Cutting open the box and unwrapping the package was ...just the beginning of it!

(Love the logo sticker)

The handling of the package was nicely done because the blush was not broken or damaged. The box that the package came in was very fancy. A little bulky, but it is over the top! (Which reflects the price I paid) Sorry for the shadowing and lighting... I was too excited before I opened it and my camera battery was low to even notice.

And Taaa DaAAaa!!!! :)))

Oooo AhhHh...

Finally in my hands, I was so afraid to open it because all that have led up to it have not disappointment me. The package of the product is heavy and luxurious feeling. I wouldn't carry it around as a compact just because there is no need to with the quality of the blush and the size of the compact.

Isn't it gorgeous? I love it so much! The color is matte with a little hint of coral and a pink. I always go for colors like this, but this is IT! It is the one I will use everyday. The color is build able for a night time look and it is definitely a color anyone of any skin tone can wear for any time of the day. I think it is a great natural look and very flattering. The pigmentation of the color is just unbelievable. There is 9 grams of product which is about 2 times more product than NARS blushes. But you don't even need to swirl your brush into it for good pick-up. Just a tap or two will do. So with that said, the amount of product given and the amount of product needed is worth the money, you will NEVER run out! The finish is very smooth/silky and not powdery. I cannot say if it lasts well because I have not tried it out for a whole day. I am definitely going back and buying more of the colors!!! I do not want to go crazy and stock up, but they did go out of stock for a few months this summer...SCARY!

SWATCHES???
- That will be on my OCTOBER HITS& MISSES Video. Hehe :O
I will then review the product as well!
But if you cannot wait.... Go onto my favorite blogger http://karlasugar.net/  for more swatches from this collection.
Till then,

Jen

Outfit of the Day... 10-3-10

HeY!

Just a quick post to let you guys see my Outfit of the Day inspired by the summer going into Autumn! Like you've all heard, Autumn is my favorite season and not only for the weather, but more so the fashion. What I love most is the layering and mix match of cheap and chic trends. You could mix expensive with cheap and no one could guess which is cheap. You just have to wear it with confidence and give it a little of "you" styling.

YAY! Just my kind of day... jacket with sunglasses ;)

What I am Wearing:
-White, crew neck, 3/4 sleeve, knit shirt- Banana Republic (Outlet)
-Black, racer back, Jumper- Urban Outfitter (Sale rack)
-Black, Boyfriend, Blazer- Marshalls
-Brown/bronze, gradient, sunglasses- Gucci
-Purse- Gucci
-Brown leather, wedge, shoes- Vince Camuto

See? You can mix some low end and high end stuff and no one would know! I actually shop more on the thrifty side, but I do splurge on items I think are worth it for the look and quality. Some splurges here and there can really make a difference to your everyday look because one statement item can really make any look POP! So just look around and if you find something you "cannot live without" get it... it will be worth it. But keep in mind it does not have to be expensive to make a statement. Just anything that says "you" will do.

Alright, till next time... have a great weekend!

Haute Red Lips: How to Last...

Hello hellO!!!

Long time no see.. NOT hehe. I just wanted to drop by to share with you all, my new method to keeping a red lip or any other lip color on all day and night. It can last through eating, drinking, and talking. I'm so excited for the Fall because bold colors are the trend this Autumn and Winter. I'm SOOO HAPPY about my red lipstick. First, I got to find the perfect red color that is matte, moisturizing, non-scented/fragrance, and complimenting for myself. NOW, I've found a way to keep it on forever without bleeding or fades. I'm in makeup heaven.

I know, I know the coloring in the video is bad... makes me look almost like an oopaloopa cousin or something. But I was too excited to wait for the next day. Plus, it wouldn't be real... I couldn't prove to you how well the color lasted. Well, I hope this video make you as excited as I am about bold lip colors.

Have fun experimenting with different colors and good luck finding your perfect one.

Venomous Villains REVIEW

Hi :)
Sorry I did not post up the swatches in time, but I hope the video already gave you guys some aspects of the line. I was really in a rush and didn't have time to tell you what I truly think of the line as well as the items I got! I got the two lip glosses and one blush.

I didn't get more from the line just because I do not want to go back into my addictive ways. I have made a promise to only get what I "need" and will use OFTEN. But, if you want to know what I would have splurge on here it is... I would have gotten the two duo eyeshadow from the Sleeping Beauty- Maleficent line and the magical cool powder from the Princess and the Frog- Dr. Facilier line.
(I might have to go get it hehe) I heard it feels like water mist on your face when you first put it on. I think it would be great for highlighting on the face and inner eyes.

ANYWAYS, enough of my wishful thinking...
The blush I got is from the Evil Queen collection is call, "Bite of an Apple". The blush is matte bright coral pink color. I do not have a similar color in my blush collection so I am really excited about it. Because of its brightness I would not wear it with a natural look. I'm actually wearing it in the picture above. I think it balances out the colorful accents on my eyes. This color looks great on any skin tone. The packaging is cute, but the only con is the price is higher than MAC's regular blush and the container is a little smaller as well. :(

As you can see, I've swatched the right side darker so that you can visualize how pigmented the color is versus the left side is the blended with version. The only con I can think of is the size... I wish there was more product!!

NOW... on to the lipglosses

I also got another item from the Evil Queen's line, which is the "Strange Potion" lipgloss. The color is a pink coral with a little bit of frost. (Which would look divine with the "Bite of an Apple" blush) I personally, do not like frost due to the creases in my lips. Frost do give you a pout look when applied to the center of the lips, but with me it seems to accentuate my "wrinkles". Ok, enough of me and anti-frost. You're probably wondering why did I get this color anyways? I decided to overlook the frost and purchased it because the color is very opaque and it is similiar to my favorite Cremesheen gloss - Richer Lusher that has been sold out! GREAT color... there isn't any cons except my hatred toward frost ;)

The only other thing I got from the Cruella Deville (wow never noticed how villain her name was lol) is the "Devilishly Stylish" lipgloss. Besides from the fact that I love the name, the color does the name justice. It is a nude with a bronze undertone color ... again with the FROST! I decided to get this color because of the balance of shimmers and frost. The color is great to put over darker colors to tone it down. I know a lot of people that are nude lovers would love this gloss because you can put it over your favorite nudes to make a new favorite color. LOVE IT!!

Here it is! On the right is "Strange Potion" and the left is "Devilishly Stylish"

I personally love Disney as a kid and till this day! I cannot imagine my childhood without it. These fun colors inspired me to have a playful look. Hope you like it and see you soon on my next video!

What I am wearing:
Face:
-Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Foundation Compact - Warm Natural
-MAC Studio Fix Powder- C4
-Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Duo- Medium
-MAC Mineral Skinfinish
-MAC Venomous Villains Blush- "BITE OF AN APPLE"

Eyes: (Tutorial Coming Soon)
-88 Eyeshadow palette
-MAC gel liner- Blacktrack
-Maybelline Full n Soft Mascara- Blackest
-ELF Eyebrow Kit- Dark
-MAC pigment in Vanilla

Lips:
-Burt's Bee Lipbalm
-MAC Prolong Wear Lipstick- Till Tomorrow
-MAC Venomous Villains Lipgloss- "Strange Potion"

I hope  my review will also inspire you to have a playful look. You do not need Disney make-up products to play up your make-up and attitude. Just need a little inspiration/confidence and a lot of playing around. Well, have fun guys and gals. Remember go get these items before they are sold out, I wouldn't want that to happen.

Good luck!

JEN :)

Quickie: MAC "Venomous Villains" Haul

HiloOo,

Quick update... I just got back from picking up my pre-order from MAC's new line "Venomous Villains". If you guys have not heard of it, it is a line inspired by Disney stories. Instead of always praising the heroes and heroines, MAC decided to dedicate the line to villains. I only got a couple of things that are most popular as well as I feel like is suitable to me. I didn't want to splurge and get ones I didn't like of course, or even wouldn't use. Student under unemployment here people;)

Well here it is... stay tune for swatches and my review on the item SOON!!!

I would go out and try it out for yourself before it is sold out!

And always, have fun and good luck!

:) Jen
